Promethean Action’s Barbara Boyd says leaked files published by the X analyst Data Republican expose a plan by former USAID, State Department and Pentagon officials and allied nonprofits to turn post-midterm unrest against President Trump. Boyd made the case in the group’s Oct. 21 Midweek Update video, also posted on Facebook.

Boyd ties the files to two verified news items: Sen. Elissa Slotkin’s Oct. 13 remarks at the University of Chicago that she wants “that deterrence message” for young people weighing Trump administration jobs, and an Oct. 20 Washington Post report that about 10 current and former national security officials have privately advised officials in 10 states on possible federal interference in the Nov. 3 vote.

Data Republican, the account run by Utah software engineer Jennica Pounds, says the recordings come from a group called Renew to Thrive and an umbrella she calls the United Democracy Alliance, which she links to 50501, Indivisible, the Horizons Project and National Security Leaders for America. She says the material shows the groups discussing “redlines” for declaring the federal government illegitimate. The named groups have not confirmed her account, and the full archive has not been made public.

Known vs. alleged

Confirmed: Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) said at an Oct. 13 University of Chicago event, a live taping of Vox’s “America, Actually!” podcast, “I want to look at these signature cases and not just focus on the president, but on the people who enabled him,” and “I want that deterrence message.” NewsNation published the fuller exchange, in which she framed it as accountability for corruption. Slotkin later said on MS NOW’s “Deadline: White House” that “if you break the law, you should be held accountable.”

Confirmed: The Washington Post reported Oct. 20 that roughly 10 current and former Pentagon and national security officials have privately advised officials in 10 states, plus members of Congress from both parties, on how to respond if the federal government interferes in the midterms, including troops or ICE agents at polling places. The officials told the Post they acted outside their government roles and relied on public statements, not intelligence. NPR, the Daily Mail and Firstpost also covered it.

Confirmed: National Security Leaders for America, led by retired Rear Adm. Michael E. Smith, has publicly issued a toolkit on managing potential military intervention in the midterms, developed with groups working under the Horizons Project, according to The Last Daily.

Reported by one side only: Data Republican (Jennica Pounds) says leaked recordings and documents show Renew to Thrive operating inside a “United Democracy Alliance” with ties to 50501 and Indivisible, credits Erica Chenoweth with conceiving it, and says the groups discussed “redlines,” such as an Insurrection Act invocation, for declaring the federal government illegitimate. Her posts also say Democratic Socialists of America members would serve as “foot soldiers.” None of the named groups or people has confirmed this, and the full archive is not public.

Unverified or alleged: Boyd’s claims that the effort is a coup to overthrow the government, plans riots, aims to rewrite the Constitution on socialist principles, and that the Post article is a cover-up. No independent outlet has corroborated a plan for violence or a link between the Post’s unnamed officials and the leaked files.
