Spiritual warfare: Step 7
Stand with Fr. Ripperger
A sourced, charitable account of the October 2026 request, and a respectful way to share what his teaching has meant to you.

Stand with Fr. Ripperger
In October 2026, Archbishop James Golka of Denver asked Fr. Chad Ripperger to pause public speaking and interviews for one year. We respect the Archbishop’s pastoral office, and we are praying for him. We also want him to know how much Fr. Ripperger’s teaching has meant to so many people. Here is what has been confirmed.
Timeline
- 1997: Fr. Ripperger is ordained for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter. (OSV News; LifeSiteNews)
- 2017: He has held faculties in the Archdiocese of Denver since this year, according to a Denver Catholic appointments notice. (OSV News via NCR: “faculties since 2017”)
- February 2026: Pope Leo XIV names James Golka Archbishop of Denver. (LifeSiteNews; RNS via WTOP)
- October 2026: Archbishop Golka meets with Fr. Ripperger and asks him “to consider a one-year fast from public speaking and interviews.” The Archdiocese says, “Fr. Ripperger readily agreed.” (Archdiocese of Denver, Oct. 19, 2026; Archdiocese statement: “readily agreed”; National Catholic Register; EWTN News)
- October 19, 2026: Fr. Ripperger tells LifeSiteNews, “The Archbishop has asked me to take a break on public speaking,” and says the pause runs until next September. (LifeSiteNews: “take a break”; LifeSiteNews: “till next September”; Catholic World Report)
- October 20, 2026: The Archdiocese confirms that Fr. Ripperger “remains a priest in good standing.” (OSV News: “good standing”; National Catholic Reporter)
- Next fall: “At the end of the year, they will review the arrangement together.” (Archdiocese of Denver; Catholic Culture; OSV News)
The stated purpose is to let Fr. Ripperger “devote himself to the Society and to the people it serves.” The Archdiocese adds: “Archbishop Golka is grateful for Fr. Ripperger’s priestly service, exorcism ministry, and for the generous spirit in which he received this request.”
